Back to the Shack

(You may want to refer to previous post to understand this one)
So I totally LOVED my book. I felt nourished. I felt home-y. I felt good. I liked it and also loved it.
And so . . . I will recommend it to all of you. Maybe you will not all like it, but maybe some of you will love it. It's a little unconventional, but hey, that can be a really good thing. Just suspend your disbelief for a few hours and go with it! See where it takes you, 'cause the way this allegory is told is pretty darn creative. And that's all I can say about it until you've read it!
I will share a tasty morsel, though (there are many quotable passages):

"I don't think I can do this," Mack answered softly.
"I want you to. Forgiveness is first for you, the forgiver," answered Papa, "to release you from something that will eat you alive; that will destroy your joy and your ability to love fully and openly. Do you think this man cares about the pain and torment you have gone through? If anything, he feeds on that knowledge. Don't you want to cut that off? And in doing so, you'll release him from a burden that he carries whether he knows it or not -- acknowledges it or not. When you choose to forgive another, you love him well."
"I do not love him."
"Not today, you don't. But I do, Mack, not for what he's become, but for the broken child that has been twisted by his pain. I want to help you take on that nature that finds more power in love and forgiveness than hate." -- The Shack, by Wm. Paul Young, pg. 225.

Hm... interesting!!!
Love, Mre.

sounds like a good book! i'm not even surprised you are already finished. takes me 12 years to read a book but you...12 hours is the max. so happy saturday to you. i spent the day cooking--making your mom's cheese soup actually. and then i made a key lime cheesecake but i don't think it worked. today i had the thought i'm never cooking again. i have had this thought 8,000 times and i'm hoping by the 9,000th time i'll actually decide to quit altogether. love yah!
