My Dad: The Bomb-Diggity

You may know my Dad. You may not know my Dad. If you do know my Dad, you are one of the luckiest (blessed, I stand corrected) people on the face of the whole planet!!! If you do not yet know my Dad, keep on keeping those commandments and one day you might get to meet him. My Dad is simply THE. BEST. DAD. IN. THE. WHOLE. WORLD. In fact, he is one of the best MEN in the world, period. I really never thought I would get married because no one could ever measure up to my Dad! Then I met Ben, and he showed me he had many of the same wonderful qualities and I was sold. When I see men do kind things, I think "that is just like my Dad." When I see men do unkind things I think "I'm so happy my Dad would never do that." My Dad always made me feel like I could do and be anything in the world. He never ever put me into a box. He let me be me and made me feel like Me was a groovy thing to be. My Dad is a super-de-dooper listener. He is soothing, and pretty darn calm about everything on earth. Don't let him roll his tongue -- if you see him do this -- run for it. But I've only had to run for it once in my whole life and then I got to go on a special ride and get a treat AND a candy bar, so it kinda worked out in the end. My Dad always made me feel beautiful inside and out. I always knew I was special to him. My Dad is hilarious. My Dad is a spiritual man, and from the time I was a young teenager and realized just how great a father's blessing can be, his blessings and example have had a huge impact in my life. He gave up everything he knew for the gospel. His love for my Mother is profound. He is the single greatest grandfather in the whole universe. My kid's love him so very much, and both have a special friendship with their "Papa's." I am my Dad's 'princess' and never plan on giving up the title. I have never struggled to picture my Heavenly Father's love being gentle and kind, because my Dad's love is gentle and kind. He is just pretty darn groovy. I love you, Dad.

I think Dad's tongue might have curled when we climbed down the laundry shoot and spilled the laundry soap with bleach onto the carpet! Good thing we decided to go swimming so he could cool off a little before he found us! I think I got the lucky end of that deal, I got to go home...to a different house! :-)
