Scary-Okey

Last night was the culmination of an event that has been percolating in my small mind since last November, and also the end of a long, extended period of harassment from the Young Men's leaders.
Scary-Okey.
If any of you are reading this don't know, in our church we have a youth program simply called "young women's" and "young men's." Clever, right? I like it. And different members of the ward (or congregation) are called to be their leaders, or essentially, their teachers and activity supervisors. I am over the Young Women in our ward right now, and it is the cushiest job ever. I love it more then soda pop. I really, really love it.

Now that we're all on the same page, let's get back to Scary-Okey. Last year at our yearly planning meeting some of the young men came up with this idea of a karaoke/lyp sync with a Halloween theme and the committee voted for it. Please note: I. had. nothing. to. do. with. this. decision. At this point, I will beat up anyone that says otherwise! However; the girls I am directly over -- the 16 and 17 years olds -- were put in charge of it. So we did it. Magnificently.
And it was pretty much a blast. And very funny. And it was the youth. With it's powers combined, it was CAPTAIN PLANET! really awesome.

Here we have the young women leaders opening the night (I'm in the middle, dressed up as The Double B):

Here's our 14 and 15 year old girls singing "I need a Hero!" It was hilarious... they worked all day after to school to get it perfected.
And my group of girls performing a medley:

The ONE group of young men that performed. They have my love and devotion forever.
This picture is my greatest triumph. The young men leaders performed in the pitch black with their cell-phones held up to their mouths so you could just see their lips. It was pretty funny. I decided to try to take a picture. In the dark. Imagine my delight when it actually took. Muh-ha-ha!!! (Dear Young Men's President: Thank you. And also, you're welcome.)

The 12-13 year old girls performing "I'm a Barbie Girl" in German! It was really cute. They spent two hours getting ready and twenty minutes choreographing. Oh, to be 12 again!
And finally, two members of our bishopric. Our brand new bishop is on the left. He was a little anxious about the whole idea, but he did it! What a good sport. It was hilarious.

All in all, a good and gratifying night. But I thoroughly plan on forcing the young men to plan all "controversial" activities in the future. My nerves are shot!!!

looks like you had a good time. I love pictures taken in the pitch black. I have some great facial expressions of Aiden when he was about 2. We were brushing our teeth and he was sitting on the counter. He kept turning the light off and thought he was pretty cool. I would aim the camera in the general direction and click when he turned out the lights. The flash is a great friend!

As for the box tops. They are on cereal, saran wrap, ziplock, Kleenex(on the bottom). On the Kleenex I get the three pack from wal mart and the plastic wrap had three bonus ones on it. I also recently got a ten pack from Sam's and it had a big 10 bonus square thing on it. I was surprised at all the places I found them when I got searching. Best of luck.

Looks fun! I wish I could have been a fly on the wall. Only to watch the performances but not to perform! :-)

There is only one flaw in this story. Everyone knows young men would never in a million years propose an activity that involved singing in front of girls. Also I have to say, your young mens president must be a saint. OK He probably thinks the same of you.

Since you're sitting over there in your house, and I'm sitting over here in mine, I was just thinking maybe we should plan a day to go do pictures! When is the double B off???
