The Magical Mystery Tour

I know, so sweet.

This was a disappointing nap for Olivia,

who later denied that the nap ever took place. We had to prove it with photographic evidence.

I think she looks like Sleeping Beauty.
Here is the story:
Cousins came over. Wanted to play. Liv was ecstatic!

Cousins gave her a ring and sticker earrings! Liv was ecstatic!

Earring fell off. Liv was hysterical!

Too distraught to play.

Mom helped her find her earring.

Liv went to put on her shoes.

Mom found her in her "apartment" with the door closed, out like a light, about five minutes later.

Being a Mom is so stinking cool.

We are leaving tomorrow for THE UTE STAMPEDE. Or, as I like to call it, the UUUUTTTTEEEE STAAAAAMPEEEEEDE! I even referred to it that way last night in family prayer, for two reasons: A) I know it will get a raised eyebrow from the Double B, and B) I feel I should let Heavenly Father in on my little jokes, just in case.

Because as my dear friend said the other day "I get a kick out of myself. I really do."
I thought that was funny.

The Ute Stampede is big cheese around this household. And this year it's even bigger, because Daddy gets to come! Which hasn't happened in roughly five years, give or take a few more. We're even making it our little summer vacation, which means I get to go to Reed's as much as my heart desires (or almost as much).

The Stampede is a big rodeo and town celebration in the little middle of Utah town where I grew up. There are parades! Candy! Craft shows! Horses! A Carnival! A nationally qualifying rodeo! A man who jumps out of airplane with a giant flag on his back! Cowboys and Cowgirls! Chicken Crunch Salad, Fried Mushrooms, and Bubble Gum Ice Cream at Reed's! And other cool things like that. Really, it's second only to Christmas.

We didn't get to go last year because of this.

Pretty good excuse, right? I thought so.

Can't wait to let the good times roll! I know you'll be waiting with baited breath (or something) for the full report. Signing off.
