Out of the Mouth of Babes

The Double B just told Olivia to hurry and finish eating so she could go help her brother clean their room.
Her response?
"But Daddy... you know I'm a slow eater."
Yep.

Earlier we had a visitor at our home that Olivia had never met before. She leaned over to Mariah and whispered "Who's the Grandma with the spiky hair?"

Last night we had Family Home Evening with Grandma and Grandpa B. On the way home K.J. wanted to play a game so Daddy suggested we play the quiet game. None of us were too enthused, except Olivia, who asked gamely from the back seat "How do you play?" Daddy explained the rules and then after a few streets of silence Olivia asked "When do we start?" Daddy said "Right now!" To which she responded "Okay!"
Several minutes later, with conversation carrying on as usual for everyone else we hear Liv's tiny voice in the very back "Am I winning yet?"
It was one of those very delightful moments in life.
Daddy lauded her as the Great Silent Game Victor, and named himself and K.J. as second and first loser, respectively.

Yesterday was a funny day at our house.
It's spring break, and we've been enjoying the time together. Yesterday's big plans included a Trip To Costco! Yay!
Mariah was doing Liv's hair in the bathroom when Livi hit her hand on the bathroom counter. She immediately growled out "Curse you, Counter!"
Honestly. I don't know where she gets it. But I'm sure glad she does.
This led to a day of curses.
On the way home from Costco, K.J. surprised us all with a move that couldn't have made his Dad any prouder. He reached quietly over the seat and put a piece of ice down Mariah's shirt. She squealed and immediately sought revenge. It was so funny to me, and I was so amazed that he had done it like that -- it's so fun to see your kids blossom into rascals. In her spasms, she got some barbecue sauce on her pants and exclaimed "Curse you, B-B-Q!"
K.J. immediately said in his most calm and matter-of-fact voice "Well, curse you, Mariah, for putting the ice down the front of my shirt."
No one else found any of this as funny as I did, but I didn't care.

I'm just glad to be here, really.
