The Time She Got Me

Katelyn bit me on the bum today.

Yes, it's true. I can't protect the guilty.
And. It. Hurt.

Here is the story:
I was teaching my acting class to several cute children ages 6-11... we were working on using our bodies and voices to teach the audience about our characters. Since it's summer, class is in the morning and I bring my children. You may have heard of them.
There were five or so minutes left. Parents had started to filter in, and Katelyn was getting nervous with the new people and very, VERY impatient for me to pick her up. Because I was currently contorting myself and playing along with the little actors, I was doing my duty... ignoring her to the best of my abilities. As I stood up straight and got my students to straighten up and get ready to draw on their "blank paper" again, she burrowed in behind me, clutching at my legs and knocking me a little with her head as she made angry noises. I ignored her. Naturally.

She then clamped her little incisors down on my backside in a last ditch effort to get my attention. And it worked. It was one heck of a bite.

I yelped and leapt away from the pain. Both children and adults were staring at me and wondering what in the heck was wrong with this lady.
I didn't exactly feel like I could tell them that my one-year-old had just taken a big chunk out of my tush.
So I said "Oh, haha, having my own little gal here can be such an adventure... hehe... hehahe..." and carried on for the remaining two minutes.
Holding Katelyn. Naturally.
Because by now I realized that this woman meant business.

I am laughing WITH you. :)

She DOES mean business, apparently. And I want to take your acting class. I'm reading a book right now about a girl who is the assistant director of a high school play and it made me regret not being involved in that stuff. Not that I have any acting ability, but it just sounds like fun. You should tell some acting stories so that I can live vicariously through you. And I mean business, but not the biting you in the bum kind.
