Schedule

This morning KJ and Liv had their heads together while I made breakfast, occasionally scribbling away at a paper. As they got up later to get dressed, KJ very excitedly informed me that they are working on a schedule for when Grandma and Grandpa come for Christmas. Liv added "Day Two, lunch at Chick-fil-A!!!"
Ha ha. Looks like things will be mapped out for us. And apparently we are eating out every meal. I may need to buy myself a new lottery ticket before they arrive, I guess! I am glad they (and the Double B and I) have something so great to look forward to.
Yesterday Bev took Kate after one and picked up the kids from school so the Double B and I could have a lovely date and finish Christmas shopping for the kids. It was so nice of her, and we had a great time. She is a saint. We had lots of great conversation and talked more about our future and what we really want in it. Not sure where life will take us in the next year or two, but I guess that is why you live in the now and bloom where you are planted as best you can!
One thing we are so grateful for is how much closer our little family is now. We are really a team, and that is a wonderful by-product of our last year. Of course, we were always crazy about each other, but when your little family unit is all you have, it really cements a lot of things in a different way. We also talked about how much more we appreciate our extended family. We always have been family people, and loved our fams so much and wanted to be close to them. And we have a few friends out here who are so thrilled to be far from theirs and are surprised we still miss ours so much. We are just blessed with super, super families and know from being far away that what we really want -- is to be closer. One day I hope that will become a reality.
Life is good and we are so blessed. Even as we are forced to learn and grow for our own good, we are looked after, and for that we are profoundly grateful.

Sometimes we have realize that distance might separated us but it will never tear us apart. Struggle starts the fires in our life that refine us. I miss you light crazy, but your fire is aiding others about you. So I will allow you to live far from me for another season or so. . . then you have to come home. No back take sister. I mean it. "does anyone have a peanut"?
