Liv The 15 Year Old

Today this gorgeous girl turned fifteen years old.

She is such a huge, sparkly joy for us. We just love her so much.

I picked her up from school at 10:30 for her parents lunch date and the two of us headed to Hobby Lobby and Target to have her pick some art supplies or things that were things she really wanted for herself but wouldn't normally buy. I was not surprised by the paint but was very surprised by an old fashioned perfume sprayer. Pink and cute and she's been admiring it forever when she and KJ go on their adventures, but it's something she would have never bought for herself. So I was so glad she got it. She filled it with body spray tonight and it's all just darn cute. 

Then we stopped at Sonic and Panda Express and headed down to Dad's work so he could join us for lunch. We had a fun visit and then he took her in the store because he wanted her to pick a treat that was all her own, a box of candy bars or a case of soda pop or whatever she wanted. He was very surprised when she chose her own box of beef sticks! She was very excited about that one.

She wanted to go to the park after we got the tiny beans from school, so we went and spent a happy couple of hours goofing off outside. Benny decided we were a royal family and the playground was our castle. I was the Queen and he called me "Mother" the whole time, never missed it once. Katelyn was the "Princess" and Olivia was the "Birthday Princess."

Katelyn made a very impressive jump and then hopped up on one foot in pain. This piece of wood went CLEAR THROUGH her croc. Clear through the hard plastic sole and like a centimeter into her shoe! We are really lucky it didn't pierce through her foot, but it sure didn't feel good. She's a trooper. We documented it for future generations. 

Liv is a very accommodating sister and tried all of Benson's trick slides.

We watched the Eurovision movie again because she's totally in love with it, then she picked Cafe Rio for dinner and when Dad got home we opened presents, shared what we love about Livi, and had root beer floats. I hope it was a happy day for our girl Liv. World's coolest 15 year old, that's for dang sure. One of the true loves of my life.

Thanks for being the most amazing partner in crime I could ever ask for. Thanks for being "my kind of weird," as you so perfectly stated it. You are a truly special person. I know you will continue making this world a better place for all of your one wild and precious life. And I'm so happy this world has you. We are all so lucky to have you. I love you with all my heart.

P.S. Today the school district announced they are taking a five day pause to try to stem the spread of Covid. They do not have enough staff to run because of all the positive cases and they are hoping if they just stop everything it will be enough to get through this wave of the 5 day isolation. Sigh. The kids have school tomorrow and Thursday and then won't go back until the next Wednesday. I sure hope it works. We all got a little squeeze in our chest over it, but we will be optimistic and I think this is wise and could be just the thing. Let's be optimistic. Might as well be.
