Jon And Trin

Jon and Trina came down last weekend to surprise me for my birthday! The Double B and Trina have been in collusion for some time. I knew something was happening because he told me not to make plans on Friday or Saturday. But I was so very happily surprised to hear my nieces and nephews voices at the door.

As soon as they got here, we changed clothes to go to the temple. There have been some adjustments since the last time I was there, so that's always interesting. Jon forgot his recommend and mine wasn't scanning properly, so we both had to sit in a back office while they verified everything. Talk about feeling like you've been sent to the principal's office! I kept racking my brain wondering what I had done, ha ha. But we eventually got the all clear and got to go to the session. Afterwards we headed to the Cheesecake Factory.

The food was sooo delicious (I decided on this, my 4oth birthday, that only the Chicken Bellagio would do. And I was right.) and the company was top notch. We laughed and laughed and covered a lot of territory in our conversation.

I couldn't believe Jon made it, his work has been sooo insane with all the waterfalls, but he somehow managed it. It meant a lot to me that he would do that so we could celebrate our birthdays together. We were both due on March 7th but he was born on the 2nd and I was born on the 22nd.

Liv and Leighna rangled all the kids for us, and I so appreciated that. They are the best teenagers out there. We are blessed with really great kids.

Trina and I stayed up late telling each other the truth about everything, because that is who we are to each other. We also laughed our heads off (as quietly as possible) because that is also who we are to each other. T-Bomb is just my person. That's the only way to say it. I'm so thankful God made it so we could do this life together! She has been traveling like crazy the last month or so and I know is so tired. So the fact that she would be willing to leave home  again(!) to come to me just made me feel extra lucky and special. Best person on the planet. She told me a very, veerry hilarious story about an incident she had with a dog that still makes me laugh every time I think about it. There are some very epic quotes that are safely tucked away on my phone. Hil-arious.

We woke up and the Double B made us a delicious breakfast. We chatted, the kids went on an adventure, and the grown ups played hand and foot. Then for one final surprise, we headed out to the fancy Brazilian restaurant that we enjoyed on our anniversary. It was so, so delicious. We are fancy people now.

After we got back, they headed home and I gave my Double B the biggest hug ever. He makes my life awesome. I appreciate him so very, very much. The care and attention he put into planning a fun time for me with some of my very favorite people just warmed my heart.

It meant the world to me that Trina and John and their family would come down to celebrate with us. Best surprise ever!!! I love them so much. As you can tell, I had a very, very happy 40th birthday celebration. Lucky, lucky Marie.
