Will

Saturday was a very fun and very busy day!
We woke up at 5:30 and were on the road at 6 so that we could see our cutie nephew Will be baptized at 9:30.
We sang along to some classic 80's love songs on the drive. Music makes everything better, especially when you really go for it!
It was my big brother Jon's 45th birthday, which worked out nicely. I kind of wish we weren't getting older at this fast clip! I really love my big brother. He has watched out for me my whole life and is such a treasured friend to me now. I'm so lucky to have him in my life.
Here's the man of the hour -- Will!! I love this kid. I cried happy tears when I found out that his Mom was pregnant with him, and suddenly here he is baptized! Benson's buddy and loved by us all.
My parents got a dog! Proof that life is full of surprises. His name is Scout. I told my kids they have to call him "Uncle Scout" and I'll call him "Little Brother." So far no one has agreed, but he's a cutie and gives me hope that I, too, may someday get to have a dog.
Here's my Dad trying to act like this isn't the best thing ever.
We had a fun day visiting family, including Mom B and Sil and the girls. Then we headed home, because the Double B had to work at 4 in the morning. Plus, the winds were crazy bad, so that meant he had to drive.
He had a diabolical plan all along to finally get to eat at Chuck-A-Rama, his dream since the pandemic. Benson also thought it was the best thing ever. I was happy to eat the rice pudding.
Big Brother helping clean faces his whole career.
Isn't he pretty?
Team work to keep Katelyn warm!
On Sunday only Benson, KJ, and I made it to church, work and the yuckies kept everyone else occupied. While Benny and I waited for KJ to greet his public, Benny found me this beautiful dandelion! It was so big! What a sweetie pie magillicutty. It is now in a vase on the counter.
We had a relaxing afternoon at home. We watched some of the new season of Somebody Feed Phil (hurray!) while Dad did his meetings. Then I made shrimp scampi for dinner and had a nice time together.
Today KJ and I went coking, otherwise it's been just a regular day.
These two are always thick as thieves, entertaining each other. They are currently on a Hobby Lobby and Target run.
I found out tonight that American Girl made a boys version of their book The Care And Keeping Of You, which was so helpful for my girls at Benson's age and as they've grown. I was so happy about that, and ordered it right away! And then, and this is kinda funny, I felt wildly, wildly depressed. I don't want Benson to grow up! I don't want any of them to grow up! What in the world is happening here!
Isn't this sad. I love being a Mom. I don't want to wish away one day of it. I don't want to leave their childhoods behind. The Double B said soon we'll have grandkids and that will be even better because we can spoil them rotten and then send them home. But I still felt sad.
All over a book. Funny.

Life is good. And weird. And hard. And good.
Love you, bye.
